About The Editor
“Be who you are and say what you feel,
Because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”
- Theodore Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss), American author and illustrator (1904 - 1991)
By doctor’s orders, here’s the long story short. I’m a finance and economics major turned investment banker turned 20-something entrepreneur, and in the sprawling hours of my increasingly “recreational” afternoons, I’ve drifted back toward the creative arts in the hope of somehow saving my soul. To that end, I have two feature-length scripts under my belt, along with a handful of short stories and this pseudo-journalistic blog, but I’m still searching for that one unifying force that somehow brings it all together.
From cosmology to political economy to social identity to the evolution of sport, “the science of everyday life” has always fascinated me, and over the past few years these concepts have all found their place within the pages of this site. In piecing everything together I’ve come to realize something tremendously important: original thought can be fleeting without action. In fact, when left alone to brood and fester, it is the very essence of inertia, like a cold and unmovable stone, tied to the ankle of every brilliant idea you’ve ever had.
So I’ve resolved to write down anything that seems to bring structure to all the chaos, or blends together ideas in ways that we wouldn’t normally expect. I’ve decided that there is purpose and order to this world, and as I figure it out subject-by-subject, lesson-by-lesson, experience-by-experience, I promise to share any insights I discover right here on the rational post. If you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it, this could be the start of something fun.
Thanks for tuning in.
