ZED | Zegarra Environmental Designs

About ZED

Originally a student of international development at the University of Toronto, Nathalie Zegarra changed gears in the summer of 2007 and began pursuing a degree in interior architecture and design without abandoning her interest in social philanthropy.

After graduating at the top of her class from the New England Institute of Art with a B.Sc. in Interior Design, Nathalie hopes to design commercial, recreational, and residential spaces that engage and inspire all over the world. She now looks beyond a simple façade and into a world of three-dimensional spaces where every object, light, color and texture has a reason to be.

The value of this diverse academic background is most clear in her development of Project Bolivia — a community center in her hometown of La Paz — where the function and form of the space is just as important as the developmental programs being taught.

Going forward, she plans to study how structures are designed and built, how they interact, and how materials and finish can shape our experience of everyday environments. Zegarra Environmental Designs is the culmination of years of hard work and the pursuit of a dream: offering stunning and unique sustainable designs for an increasingly complex world.
